I was born in Paterson, New Jersey and went to High School in Frankfurt,Germany. Nearly every chance we got, we traveled all over Europe and this had a great influence on me. I attended Virginia Tech for both undergraduate and graduate schools and received a B.S. and M.A. For many years I read a book nearly every day and memorized thousands of pages, nearly all of which I have forgotten. The influence of literature, art, and architecture remains though, and I still feel the words and see the images of Renaissance artists.
I became a Christian at college after a summer of homelessness and am grateful God called someone to reach out to me.This has given me a drive to help people learn what it means to live atransformed life. I attended Princeton Theological Seminary where I received a Masters of Divinity. While at Seminary, I worked at a United Methodist Church, and they offered me a job upon graduation. I later decided to be ordained in the United Methodist Church. I served two churches in Eastern Pennsylvania. In 1995, my family moved to Orlando, and we launched a new church in Ocoee that grew to over 400 people. In 2013 we moved to Tampa, and in 2024, I am now at 1st UMC of Homosassa.
I was married in 1979 to Brenda and cared for her through a lengthy illness until she passed away on May 14, 2023. I have two children: Matthew and Ashley. Matthew is married to Tracy and they live with me now and they have four children: Drea, Dominic, Elijah and Isaac. Ashley is married to Robert and they live in Citrus Springs with their son Ezekiel.
I enjoy the outdoors and walk a lot, usually in the morning to start my day. I have a passion to help people live transformed lives because Jesus changed my life.
